This is a beautiful picture. She reminds me of a ballet dancer with her outfit and the pose of her legs. And I think the expression on the man's face, with the slight lift of his eyebrow and lip, conveys a very innocent feeling. I don't see anything insidious there. ^-^ I think what makes the girl look so young is a combination of things: her rounded face (perfectly normal for female characters in anime), her "dependent" pose clinging to him, and the fact that her chest just happens to be hidden behind his arm (so one major indicator of maturity isn't visible). Individually these things wouldn't affect the apparent age too much, but in combination they make her look younger than she is.

My art professor hit me with the exact same criticism when I was doing a thumbnail, by the way. I totally know how you feel. Try to draw something innocent and people twist things around...bleh. -_-;
